I have always wanted a fireplace but didn't see anyway I could have one so I decided I'd be happy with a mantle. I bought an artificial fireplace, complete with electric logs, at a household sale for $25. I tore off everything but the mantle and painted it cream. I not only have a mantle but I can put it antwhere I want to!
The oval picture is of my Dad's mother. My cousins gave it to me when my aunt went into a nursing home. They also gave me some young pictures of my Dad that I had never seen.
